Signing Out Of 2018: A Year In Review

A year in review

No doubt, 2018 was a big year for us. We formed new partnerships, evolved our platform with new features, gained strategic investors and expanded our global customer base with awesome global brands. Moving at such a pace, we want to make sure we take the time to reflect. One thought really stands out for us: there is so much to be thankful for! As cheesy as it may sound, we get to work with amazing people, help great companies worldwide and make the world a safer place. Thank you for sharing this experience with us.

Joining in on the movement to create a highlights list, here are our Top 10 of 2018:

1) Launching Assisted-Check-In
Looking back visitor management has evolved a ton. We’re especially excited about the new Assisted-Check-In module that allows you to go beyond the iPad-based Self-Check-In with high-volume ID scanners. Next year we’ll continue to build an ever more integrated and secure visitor / host experience.

2) Getting SOC 2
What keeps us up at night is making sure your data is safe and our service is impeccable. We decided to invest in a rigorous third-party audit of our operational and technological controls and are now proud to be one of the first VMS to earn a SOC 2 Type 1 attestation. It’s a huge milestone for the team.

3) Sharing the stage with Salesforce, Netflix and Thermo Fisher
Every year, Salesforce hosts Dreamforce, the world’s largest cloud technology conference, with over 170,000 attendees. This year, we led a panel session with Netflix, Thermo Fisher and Salesforce on the importance of visitor management and value of guest data. It was an honor to share the stage with such innovative brands to discuss the value of guest data.

4) Being named a VMS category leader by G2Crowd
As the VMS category evolves, there are more and more vendors in the space. We are thrilled to that, for the second time in a row, G2Crowd has named Traction Guest a Category Leader for Visitor Management Systems. We’re proud to have been at the forefront of this category since G2Crowd first introduced it, and are now pushing it into new territory.

6) Adding Salesforce Ventures as a strategic investor
In spring we announced that Salesforce Ventures invested in Traction Guest. Why is that exciting? They are arguably the leaders in cloud technology and have seen tons of solutions out there. Adding them as a strategic investor is very validating and will further strengthen our position.

7) Publishing our 2018 VMS report
We are constantly striving to make visitor management better, and the only way to do that is with information. It comes in many forms, but our favourite kind of data is the honest, unfiltered feedback from people across the business world. That’s why we’re excited to share our annual report on how organizations host people at their facilities. We surveyed industry professionals with an interest in operations, facilities, security and IT to uncover trends and opportunities in the VMS space. The results have been illuminating.

5) Getting recognized for our growth
We talk about growth. We feel the growth. We see the growth. And yet, it is so rewarding to be recognized for the team’s achievements. Traction Guest was selected for the 2018 Ready to Rocket list of high-growth companies in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector. Ready to Rocket is a unique business recognition list that profiles technology companies that have demonstrated a rapidly growing customer base, and the potential for 100% growth in revenue and headcount in the coming year. A proud moment for all of us.

8) Meeting you at many tradeshows
We packed our bags and traveled. While we love the internet, nothing beats a face-to-face meet-up. It was great to spend time with our customers at our Whisky tasting event or one of the conferences we attended, including Dreamforce, GSX and ISC West. Your feedback helps us learn and improve. We’ll see you on the road again in 2019.

9) Giving back
Caring for our community is in our fibre. This month, our team left the computers behind to help out at the Downtown Eastside Women’s Center. We wrapped and handed out care packages to the 450+ women who stopped by. Moments like these will always be a highlight for us.

10) Expanding our team
Adding some incredible talent is definitely a highlight for us. Our team has almost tripled in size which has made our office a fun and buzzing place to be. And, more brains will allow us to serve you better. Win-win!

From all of us here at Traction Guest: Happy New Year! We can’t wait to see what 2019 will bring.
